About the position

The Instrumentation and Controls Engineering Intern will work on a project team within the Nuclear Power Group, assisting senior engineers in the design and modification of power plant systems. This role provides an opportunity to apply academic knowledge in a practical setting, focusing on electronic process sensors, digital controllers, and other components critical to nuclear power functionality.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the engineering team in executing project work related to power plant systems.
  • Prepare engineering calculations, specifications, and designs.
  • Track and evaluate project activities and progress, compiling associated data.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in a BS or MS engineering program in Electrical, Chemical, or Mechanical Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
  • Strong academic background with relevant coursework in Mechanical and Electrical Engineering.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills, along with strong PC skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Prior internship or co-op experience in a related field is preferred.
  • Coursework or experience in mechatronics and/or robotics.
  • Understanding of the practical application of electrical and mechanical engineering principles.
