About the position

The Instrumentation and Controls Engineering Intern position at Jacobs offers an exciting opportunity to work within the Advanced Manufacturing Team. This role focuses on supporting various manufacturing industries by engaging in challenging engineering tasks that enhance the core operations of clients' businesses. Interns will gain hands-on experience in project management, technical quality assurance, and collaboration with multi-disciplinary teams, while also receiving mentorship to foster their professional growth.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the development of P&IDs and specification of process instrumentation and valves.
  • Design DCS and PLC based systems for control processes.
  • Create networking solutions for control systems.
  • Provide on-site assistance during startup phases of projects.
  • Coordinate work activities with other staff members and the discipline lead.
  • Ensure adherence to schedule and technical quality of engineering tasks.

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in chemical, electrical, or mechanical engineering.
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD and/or Revit.

Nice-to-haves

  • Previous relevant design internship experience.
  • Experience with Programmable Logic Controllers.
