About the position

We share a common purpose - to make the world more connected and sustainable. At Jacobs, we are excited about the innovative ways we can change the world, and we are looking for a dedicated Instrumentation & Control Systems (I&C) Design Engineer in northern California, based out of Redding or Sacramento. As part of our team, you'll have the chance to work on projects that bring innovative solutions to our municipal clients' water challenges locally and worldwide. In this role, you will be involved in a diverse range of projects, from major programs like the City of San Francisco Biosolids Improvement Project to smaller utilities with unique needs. Our portfolio includes some of the largest design-build projects in the water market, as well as traditional design-bid-build projects. You will collaborate with top talent at a company consistently ranked #1 globally by Engineering News Record (ENR) in water/wastewater treatment and conveyance. This environment will allow you to expand your experience and develop your portfolio on some of the nation's most significant projects. You will be involved in every project phase, from design to construction support, and gain hands-on experience through onsite startups. With the deepest technical resources in the industry at your disposal, you'll have unparalleled support to help you succeed and grow in your career. To excel in this role, you should have experience with Process & Instrumentation Drawings (P&IDs), control narratives, specifications, network drawings, panel drawings, and instrumentation selection. Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential, and you must be able to work effectively within diverse team environments. Hands-on knowledge of control system software for SCADA systems, including PLC and/or HMI programming, is beneficial. Additionally, having a professional engineering registration (Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, or Chemical) or the ability to obtain one in California within 6 months is desired.
