About the position

The Instrumentation / Electrical Engineer at Kent Plc is responsible for ensuring the successful execution of commissioning and construction deliverables in alignment with project and contractual requirements. This role involves collaboration with various project teams and stakeholders, providing technical guidance, and mentoring construction and commissioning groups throughout the project lifecycle. The engineer will leverage their extensive knowledge of project execution to support the completion of large-scale energy projects.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with project teams to ensure adherence to commissioning and construction deliverables.
  • Read, analyze, and interpret engineering documents, technical procedures, and specifications.
  • Coordinate with project personnel on construction and commissioning scope execution.
  • Maintain communication with Engineering, Estimating, Planning, and Scheduling departments to ensure compliance with drawings and specifications.
  • Determine required resources for construction and commissioning activities.
  • Coach peers on the RFI process and utilize the RFI system effectively.
  • Evaluate RFI submittals and recommend proposed solutions with proper approvals.
  • Assist in coordinating construction and CSU scope of work and assess potential impacts to the project.
  • Supervise the distribution of drawings and maintain revision control.
  • Develop Field Installation Work Packages, Test Packages, and Turnover/Handover Packages.
  • Lead system turnover meetings with discipline stakeholders and clients.

Requirements

  • College/university degree in a major engineering discipline.
  • 10+ years of Project Execution or Operations experience.
  • Established track record in leading projects through Mechanical Completion, Commissioning, and Start Up.
  • Advanced understanding of construction drawings and specifications.
  • Intermediate understanding of Microsoft Excel, Bluebeam, and 3D design software.
  • Ability to read and understand system process definitions and P&IDs/SLDs.
