About the position

The Instrumentation Engineer will join the Water Team at Wade Trim Ohio, Inc. to enhance infrastructure projects, primarily focusing on water and wastewater treatment facilities. This role requires a blend of technical expertise in instrumentation and controls, along with strong communication and mentoring skills. The position offers a flexible hybrid-remote work schedule after an initial period of employment.

Responsibilities

  • Work with a multidisciplinary group of engineers and designers to provide technical services to public and private-sector clients.
  • Perform control systems engineering, process control strategy planning, and automation designs.
  • Provide construction support services and conduct planning studies with detailed analyses.
  • Conduct field reviews and evaluations of existing equipment and control systems.
  • Prepare studies, conceptual reports, and technical memorandums.
  • Conduct I&C engineering and analyses related to water, wastewater, and industrial waste treatment facilities.
  • Develop construction documents including technical specifications, control strategies, instrument data sheets, and P&ID's.
  • Support construction activities by reviewing contractor and supplier submittals and participating in site inspections.
  • Assist with system troubleshooting and commissioning of equipment and control systems.
  • Support marketing activities by assisting with project pursuit strategies and presentation material development.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Chemical Engineering.
  • 8 to 15 years of experience in instrumentation and controls.
  • Professional Engineering license (PE) or ability to obtain one within 12 months of hire.
  • Ability to mentor junior to intermediate staff and work with remotely located project team members.
  • Self-motivated with excellent writing, organizational, and communication skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with PLC, HMI, and SCADA system planning, design, and upgrades.
  • Familiarity with construction document preparation and control panel details.
