The Instrumentation Engineer I will play a crucial role in supporting the process electrical and instrumentation team at Clayco. This position is focused on ensuring that instrumentation for design and build projects is properly designed, specified, and procured. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing regular status updates related to project schedules and budgets, ensuring that all aspects of instrumentation engineering are aligned with project goals and timelines. In this role, the engineer will support the development of Process Flow Diagrams and Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs). They will prepare instrument specifications in close coordination with process engineers, ensuring that all instrumentation is accurately sized and meets project requirements. The engineer will also develop Instrument and Input/Output (IO) lists, review bids from instrumentation suppliers, and produce detailed instrument location plans. Additionally, the Instrumentation Engineer I will review 3D piping models to ensure proper installation and accessibility of instrumentation. They will be involved in reviewing fabrication, construction, and installation requirements, as well as vendor drawings and packaged systems. Participation in both internal and external review sessions is expected, along with performing contractor Requests for Information (RFI) and submittal reviews. The engineer will also contribute to cost estimating tasks, ensuring that all financial aspects of instrumentation engineering are accounted for in project budgets.
