About the position

The Facilities Instrumentation Engineer V at Wood PLC will play a crucial role in supporting the development and implementation of engineering and construction standards for various facility projects. This position involves collaboration with multiple departments to ensure successful project execution from concept through commissioning. The engineer will also provide ongoing support for existing assets and contribute to the development of maintenance plans.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate with various departments to develop and execute facility infrastructure plans.
  • Provide troubleshooting and optimization support for instrumentation and electrical systems.
  • Support project teams during the execution, commissioning, and start-up of facility upgrades.
  • Collaborate on scope of work definition, design, BOM generation, and cost estimating for projects.
  • Develop technical specifications, diagrams, and schedules for electrical systems.
  • Provide electrical engineering support in areas such as classification, arc flash, and power distribution.
  • Coordinate with designers to create wiring diagrams and installation details.
  • Support the Management of Change (MOC) process and participate in safety reviews.
  • Conduct risk assessments and process hazard analyses.
  • Monitor project progress and reconcile costs with forecasts.
  • Develop programs and standards for maintenance of instrumentation and electrical equipment.
  • Interpret and implement corporate and industry engineering standards.
  • Provide feedback on compliance with electrical codes and standards.
  • Lead efforts to manage modifications and designs through the MOC process.
  • Oversee engineering contractors and support programming efforts for control systems.
  • Demonstrate strong values and be recognized as a technical specialist.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Instrumentation, Controls, or Electrical Engineering (or foreign equivalent).
  • 5+ years of experience in the Instrumentation, Controls, and Electrical Industry.
  • 5+ years of oil and gas experience.
  • Experience working with various engineering disciplines.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects.
  • Willingness to travel 20% of the time to support field activities.

Nice-to-haves

  • 10+ years of oil and gas experience.
  • 10+ years in technical areas of Instrumentation/Automation and Electrical fields.
  • 10+ years in the design/construction of Oil & Gas Production/Processing Facilities.
  • 10+ years of experience with PLCs, RTUs, and SCADA systems.
  • Advanced knowledge of Technical Standards (API, ASME, NFPA, NEC, ISA84, etc.).
  • General knowledge of OSHA Process Safety Management (PSM) regulatory requirements.
  • Knowledge of Cyber Security/Process Control Networks.
  • Experience directing Engineering Contractors.
  • Advanced understanding of the Project Execution process from concept to start-up.
  • Strong communication skills for team coordination.
  • Field experience in construction-related activities.
