About the position

The Instrumentation Engineer at Revvity is responsible for maintaining the Calibration and Verification Program for laboratory equipment, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards. This role involves troubleshooting, repairing, and performing scheduled maintenance on various laboratory instruments, while also managing vendor relationships for external calibration and repair services. The engineer will maintain detailed records, support continuous improvement initiatives, and contribute to operational excellence projects.

Responsibilities

  • Independently maintain the in-house Calibration and Verification Program for laboratory equipment.
  • Perform verifications and calibrations, ensuring schedules are met and records are stored accurately.
  • Conduct ad hoc repairs and scheduled maintenance on laboratory equipment, troubleshooting as needed.
  • Schedule and coordinate with outside vendors for calibration, certification, and repair work.
  • Maintain and update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Training Records.
  • Keep detailed maintenance, calibration, and verification logs per company and regulatory standards.
  • Manage equipment lifecycle, including installations, relocations, and disposals.
  • Ensure continuous coverage of scientific equipment to address breakdowns promptly.
  • Identify and support continuous improvement projects for efficiency and quality.
  • Contribute to 5S and operational excellence initiatives.

Requirements

  • BS degree in a STEM field with 2-3+ years of experience operating and/or servicing laboratory equipment, or an Associate degree in a STEM field with 4-5+ years of experience.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of basic laboratory practices (3+ years preferred).
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively, managing multiple demands and deadlines.
  • Customer-focused approach with attention to detail and accuracy in tasks.
  • Excellent record-keeping skills and communication abilities.

Nice-to-haves

  • Degree in life sciences or relevant lab certifications.
  • Previous experience under a quality management system.
  • Experience using equipment management software.
