About the position
The Instrumentation Engineer position at Bell involves working with innovative teams to test and validate aircraft components and systems. This role focuses on setting up tests, capturing data from various sensors, and ensuring compliance with testing requirements. The engineer will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to solve engineering problems and contribute to the development of next-generation aircraft systems.
Responsibilities
- Specify testing requirements for programs and manage traceability.
- Conduct validation and verification testing in structural and fatigue test labs.
- Develop test cases and procedures to meet customer requirements and MIL Standards.
- Evaluate test articles within a set schedule and collaborate with teams to solve problems during testing.
- Develop custom interfaces and signal conditioning for testing needs.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering with a controls emphasis, or similar STEM degree.
- 2 years of experience in instrumentation engineering.
- Experience installing sensors and taking measurements in a laboratory test environment.
- Familiarity with electronic measurement equipment such as DVMs, oscilloscopes, and function generators.
- Knowledge of communication standards such as ARINC 429, RS-232, RS-422, RS-485, MIL-1553, and networking protocols.
Nice-to-haves
- LabView development knowledge.
- Experience with drafting or CAD software such as AutoCAD or Catia.
