About the position

The Instrumentation Systems Engineer position at Teradyne is a high-visibility role within the Semiconductor Test Division, focusing on the development of next-generation, high-power, precision instrumentation. This role involves collaboration with various teams to define automated test equipment that meets customer needs, particularly in the semiconductor industry. The position requires a blend of technical expertise in both software and hardware, with an emphasis on analog and power circuit design.

Responsibilities

  • Work with marketing, applications, sales, and engineering teams to define future automated test equipment (ATE) solutions.
  • Be a member of an interdisciplinary systems engineering team responsible for developing high-power, precision instrumentation.
  • Design and optimize Device Power Supplies (DPS) and Voltage Instruments (VIs) to meet market needs.
  • Ensure that the instrumentation meets specifications for load transient response, voltage accuracy, and power efficiency.

Requirements

  • 10 years of engineering experience with at least 5 years in a system engineering or technical leadership role.
  • Understanding of best practices for designing analog, precision, and power circuits.
  • Experience with mixed-signal systems and digital signal processing.
  • Strong presentation and communication skills.
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally up to 10-15% of the time.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience designing very high voltage and high current electronic systems.
  • Experience in the semiconductor industry and test engineering.
