About the position

The Instrumentation Systems Field Engineer position at Tlingit Haida Tribal Business Corporation (THTBC) involves supporting the Engineering Work Center with the installation of new equipment on the Fallon Tactical Training Range (TTR) and within associated facilities. This role is critical in modifying existing equipment and providing troubleshooting assistance for communication systems. The engineer will work with all communication and data systems located on the TTR and their terminations in the Control Facilities at Naval Air Station Fallon. The responsibilities include providing range communications support, which encompasses field engineering, installation, and integration of equipment and facilities to meet TTR communication and video requirements. The engineer will also assist with project support, which involves engineering assistance in design, fabrication, cost analysis, procurement, installation, configuration changes, development, documentation, and integration of approved projects. Additionally, the role requires support for new requirements, including the integration of system modifications, range reconfigurations, and new facility buildups, particularly in relation to Engineering Change Proposals (ECPs). The position also entails equipment relocation, which includes conducting cost analysis optimization studies and engineering studies to support range growth or other requirements. The engineer will be responsible for returning inoperative systems to operational status through field-engineering actions and will support the Configuration Management (CM) program by evaluating and monitoring modifications to TTR equipment or facilities. This includes generating change requests to improve operability, reliability, and maintainability while ensuring adherence to applicable CM standards. Furthermore, the engineer will document maintenance actions in Integrated Enterprise Management Systems (IEMS) and assist in identifying sources of spare parts for systems.
