About the position
The Instrumentation Technical Specialist will serve as a subject matter expert (SME) in the calibration of instrumentation used in testing setups. This role involves ensuring the proper functioning of test equipment and software, troubleshooting issues, and supporting data collection processes. The specialist will work independently and collaboratively on complex assignments, contributing to the development of testing concepts and techniques in a dynamic environment focused on space and defense projects.
Responsibilities
- Provide SME support for setup and calibration of test equipment and associated software.
- Assist engineers in implementing system safety requirements to mitigate hazards with the test system.
- Troubleshoot faulty test equipment and wiring issues.
- Support complex technical calibration procedures and documentation.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED; Technical Certification, AA or BS in Engineering preferred.
- 10+ years of experience in a related field.
- Advanced knowledge of Electrical & Mechanical principles.
- Expertise in Oscilloscopes and data collection instruments.
- Strong skills in circuitry design and troubleshooting.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong mathematical skills.
Nice-to-haves
- Technical Certification in a relevant field.
- Experience with temperature probes, thermocouples, pressure transducers, and accelerometers.
