About the position
The Instrument Technician at J.R. Simplot Company is responsible for maintaining all process instrumentation and controls throughout the facility to ensure safe operating practices. This role involves wiring, troubleshooting, repairing, calibrating, and maintaining equipment to minimize downtime, while collaborating with engineers and electricians to complete work assignments accurately.

- Maintain all process instrumentation and controls throughout the facility.
- Wire, troubleshoot, repair, calibrate, and maintain equipment to minimize downtime.
- Collaborate with engineers and electricians to complete work assignments accurately.
Requirements
- Associate's Degree (A.A. or equivalent) in a relevant field.
- 5+ years of related experience and/or training.
- Knowledge of basic physics and chemistry.
- Intermediate math skills with the ability to accurately measure and take readings.
- Knowledge of process control, motors, final control elements, electronics, industrial networks, signaling standards, fluid dynamics, etc.
- Knowledge of 4-20mA control signals and ability to read and interpret PID controllers.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, including Excel and Word.

- Enthusiastic, accurate, and detail-oriented approach to work.
- Ability to prepare basic written and/or computer reports.
- Ability to work independently or under minimal supervision.
