About the position
We are seeking a full-time Accounts Receivable Specialist to join our established group medical practice. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of insurance policies and procedures, with the ability to effectively manage accounts receivable reports. This role requires critical thinking skills to analyze insurance communications and efficiently handle denials and rejections to secure timely payments.
Responsibilities
- Focus on working accounts receivable to maximize payment collections rather than obtaining claim status.
- Utilize comprehensive knowledge of insurance guidelines and regulations to ensure compliance.
- Analyze Explanation of Benefits (EOBs) and understand payment methodologies.
- Maintain familiarity with both government and commercial payers, as well as the various products offered by each carrier.
- Verify that insurance reimbursements align with contracted rates.
- Efficiently manage rejections and denials, employing effective strategies to facilitate payment.
- Write compelling appeals that lead to successful resolutions and payments.
Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in Accounts Receivable and Medical Billing.
- Strong understanding of insurance policies, regulations, and billing practices.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting EOBs.
- Previous experience with EMR/EHR systems, preferably eClinicalWorks (ECW).
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
