About the position

The Insurance Accounting Manager at Everest Insurance Company is responsible for overseeing the Insurance Program Administrator Accounting team. This role involves managing the onboarding of new programs, ensuring timely monthly accounting, cash management, and reporting by program administrators, and maintaining a strong internal control environment. The manager will also perform annual operational audits and liaise with various stakeholders to ensure compliance with accounting standards.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure monthly premium bordereaux are received, reviewed, and reconciled to the general ledger.
  • Ensure timely receipt of monthly account currents and proper recording of related cash against open accounts receivables.
  • Consolidate and review non-admitted receivable reporting and finalize statutory accounting recordings.
  • Manage past due balances in partnership with Program Managers and UW Ops.
  • Support annual operational audits of Program Administrators to confirm proper accounting and financial controls.
  • Maintain high levels of internal controls and ensure timely documentation and performance of key controls.
  • Regularly monitor and resolve balances in Deposit suspense while collaborating with stakeholders.
  • Partner with Business Segments and Program Administrators to onboard new programs, ensuring compliance with accounting standards.
  • Manage and develop onshore staff and contractor resources for cross-training and process improvements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or master's degree in accounting or CPA.
  • 5 - 10 years of experience in the insurance industry.
  • Extensive Internal/External Audit experience.
  • High level analytical and technical communication skills (verbal and written).
  • Excellent technology skills (Excel, Access, Power BI, Oracle) and ability to work with large data sets.
  • Excellent presentation skills (MS PowerPoint) to present balances and narratives to Program Managers.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to multitask in a dynamic environment.
  • Problem-solving focus and change management experience.
