About the position

The Insurance Accounts Receivable Collections Specialist at Turnbridge is responsible for managing and resolving outstanding claims related to mental health and substance use disorder treatment. This role involves follow-up on claims, resolving issues with third-party payers, and ensuring timely reimbursement. The position requires strong organizational skills and effective communication to collaborate with various operational units and maintain patient confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Perform follow-up on outstanding claims via phone and electronically as directed per the current A/R plan.
• Resolve claims processing issues with third-party payers and provide required information in a timely manner.
• Identify issues resulting in non-payment of claims due to internal/external issues.
• Research, prepare, submit, and follow up on appeals of denied claims for assigned portion of the AR.
• Perform insurance verification of benefits for new patients and enter benefit information into the patient management system.
• Elevate significant issues to the Accounts Receivable Manager for further management interaction.
• Work collaboratively with other operational units to expediently resolve outstanding claims.
• Maintain strict patient confidentiality and clear, concise notes.

Requirements

• 4+ years of AR follow-up experience
• Thorough knowledge of third-party payers and Medicaid
• Knowledgeable and proficient with payer websites
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to produce high-quality work
• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple responsibilities
• General knowledge of ICD-10 and CPT coding
• Basic ability in Excel
