About the position

We are looking for a Sales Agent to join our team in our Bangor, ME office. This position is not remote and requires a strong local network and in-person relationship building within the community. As a Sales Agent at Comparion Insurance Agency, a Liberty Mutual company, you will have the opportunity to develop a lucrative career by providing customers with Auto, Home, and Life insurance products from a variety of carriers. This role offers uncapped pay, including base salary, bonuses, prizes, and recognition that includes worldwide travel. You will also receive paid training (including licensing) and mentorships to help you pursue your career goals. Sales support is provided, allowing you to earn commissions for leads even if other team members close the deals. The total average first-year earnings for this role range from $65K to $85K through a combination of base salary, bonuses, and uncapped commission, with the potential for top performers to earn over $150K. Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with prospective and existing customers.
  • Prospect for new customers and generate leads through networking and community involvement.
  • Demonstrate effective communication and presentation skills to convey insurance products to clients.
  • Utilize persuasion and negotiation skills to close sales and meet targets.
  • Manage time effectively to balance multiple client interactions and follow-ups.
  • Participate in ongoing training and mentorship programs to enhance sales skills and product knowledge.

Requirements

  • Previous employment in a sales representative role with a proven track record of turning prospects into customers.
  • A state insurance license or willingness to earn one with training and support in Property & Casualty and Life insurance.
  • Effective written and oral communication skills, with the ability to present information clearly.
  • Well-developed persuasion and negotiation skills to influence customer decisions.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a proven ability to build rapport with clients.
  • Effective time management and organizational skills to handle multiple tasks.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in the insurance industry or familiarity with insurance coverage and underwriting guidelines.
