About the position
The position involves researching, obtaining authorizations, insurance verifications, clinical documentation, prescription information, and financial ability information necessary to ensure that when a prescriber writes a Specialty medication, the patient can initiate therapy in a timely and cost-efficient manner.
Responsibilities
- Research and obtain authorizations for specialty medications.
- Verify insurance and clinical documentation.
- Gather prescription information and assess financial ability of patients.
- Ensure timely initiation of therapy for patients prescribed specialty medications.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Two (2) years of experience in Prior Authorizations in either a Pharmacy or a Clinical setting required.
Nice-to-haves
- Pharmacy technician or Pharmacy billing experience with Insurers and Third Party payers preferred.
