Responsibilities

- Maintain and update patient medical records in accordance with office policies.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to obtain necessary documentation for claims processing.
- Utilize ICD-10 coding standards for accurate billing and record-keeping.
- Assist patients with understanding their insurance coverage and billing inquiries.
- Ensure all medical coding is completed accurately.
- Stay updated on changes in insurance policies, procedures, and regulations.
Requirements
- Proficiency in medical coding, particularly ICD-10.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology and office procedures related to healthcare.
- Experience in insurance verification is a plus.
- Familiarity with HIPAA regulations and the importance of patient confidentiality.
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively interact with patients and staff.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Previous experience handling medical records is an advantage.
