About the position

The Insurance Credit Analyst position at Optum involves managing medical and ancillary product premium billing. The role requires interaction with customers to ensure invoice accuracy, handling billing discrepancies, and educating clients on payment processes. The analyst will also monitor outstanding balances, prepare invoices, and reconcile billing with accounts receivables, contributing to the effective management of the premium billing function.

Responsibilities

  • Interact with customers to gather support data to ensure invoice accuracy and work through specific billing discrepancies.
  • Provide input to policies, systems, methods, and procedures for the effective management and control of the premium billing function.
  • Educate customers regarding the availability of receiving invoices and remitting payments through online applications.
  • Monitor outstanding balances and take appropriate actions to ensure clients pay as billed.
  • Manage the preparation of invoices and complete reconciliation of billing with accounts receivables.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma / GED or equivalent experience.
  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • 1+ years experience in insurance/billing.
  • Proficiency with Windows PC applications, including the ability to navigate multiple programs and learn new and complex computer system applications.
  • Ability to work any of the 8-hour shift schedules during normal business hours of 6:00am - 6:00pm, with occasional overtime.

Nice-to-haves

  • Prior experience with EPIC.
