About the position

The Insurance Customer Service Associate is responsible for managing moderate to complex inquiries related to insurance policies and billing from both internal and external customers. This role requires efficient and professional communication, problem-solving skills, and the ability to document customer requests accurately. The position involves handling inbound and outbound calls, correspondence, and service transactions, ensuring customer satisfaction and first-call resolution.

Responsibilities

  • Handle moderate to complex inquiries regarding insurance policies and billing.
  • Resolve service concerns while documenting customer requests.
  • Complete changes to policies as required.
  • Manage inbound and outbound calls and other communications for service transactions.
  • Ensure first call resolution and customer satisfaction on all transactions handled.
  • Employ probing questions and actively listen to customer issues, showing empathy.
  • Demonstrate accuracy in processing changes to customer policies based on provided information.
  • Input and track customer interactions into appropriate databases.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • 2-3 years of professional call center experience preferred.
  • Valid Life & Health Insurance License may be required based on business unit requirements.
  • Insurance background (health and life) is preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Exceptional computer skills, including typing proficiency and knowledge of Microsoft products (Outlook, Excel).
  • Ability to prioritize and multi-task effectively.

Nice-to-haves
