We are currently seeking an Insurance Defense Legal Assistant to work remotely for our West Palm Beach, Florida office. This position is ideal for individuals with a passion for the legal field and a desire to contribute to a dynamic team. As an Insurance Defense Legal Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting our attorneys by managing their calendars, scheduling depositions and hearings, and preparing legal documents. You will be responsible for ensuring that all attachments, exhibits, and enclosures are intact and properly filed, whether electronically or in hard copy. Your attention to detail and ability to manage deadlines will be essential in this fast-paced environment. Responsibilities

  • Scheduling depositions and hearings
  • Calendaring deadlines and trial orders
  • Preparing enclosure documents and packages for mail, messenger, and overnight delivery
  • Preparing, filing, and serving legal documents electronically or in hard copy in accordance with applicable civil rules and local rules
  • Assisting with client billing and invoice payment in cooperation with the billing attorney

Requirements

  • 1+ years' experience in litigation
  • Prior personal injury experience is a plus but not required
  • Experience managing attorney calendars/scheduling
  • Drafting legal documents including standardized letters, pleadings, and reports
  • Working knowledge of Florida court procedures
  • Familiarity with e-service and e-filing
  • Competent and proficient in the use of Word and Adobe
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to manage deadlines and follow up on items
  • Detail-oriented and goal-oriented
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced evolving environment as part of a team
