About the position

Pillinger Miller Tarallo LLP, a law firm with a national practice based in the New York Metro Area, is seeking an experienced Insurance Defense Litigation Paralegal. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of three years of defense litigation experience, particularly in insurance defense. This role offers the opportunity to work on a diverse range of cases, collaborating closely with attorneys to provide exceptional legal support. The firm values strong organizational and communication skills, as well as the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment. A Notary Public license is considered a plus, and a Paralegal Degree or Certificate is strongly preferred. The paralegal will be responsible for reviewing and analyzing discovery documents, case materials, and correspondence. Key tasks include drafting legal documents such as third-party summons and complaints, notices of appearance, discovery responses, subpoenas, and other legal correspondence. The paralegal will assist with depositions, obtain and maintain medical and other records, coordinate investigations, expert examinations, and inspections, and organize and maintain file documents. Additionally, the role involves assisting with motions and preparation of exhibits, e-filing documents with NYSCEF and PACER, and supporting pre-trial and trial preparation. Candidates should possess strong oral and written communication skills, prioritization skills, and the ability to multi-task effectively. Attention to detail is crucial, along with experience in Microsoft Office. Familiarity with Prolaw is a plus. The position is full-time with a hybrid work schedule available, allowing for flexibility in work location. The salary range for this position is between $55,000 and $70,000 per year, commensurate with experience.

Responsibilities

  • Review and analyze discovery documents, case materials, and correspondence.

Requirements

  • At least 3 years of experience working at a defense law firm.
  • Paralegal Certificate or degree preferred.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to prioritize and multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
  • Attention to detail and strong research skills.
  • Familiarity with NY courts and understanding of the court system.

Nice-to-haves

  • Notary Public license.
  • Experience in Prolaw.
