About the position

Sweeney & Sheehan is an AV rated regional defense litigation firm seeking a Paralegal for our Philadelphia office to work in an active litigation practice with a collegial environment and opportunity for professional growth and advancement. The firm handles a variety of matters including but not limited to premises liability, professional liability, human services, and employment litigation. The candidate should be familiar with analyzing and summarizing medical records and depositions, preparing exhibits for deposition and trial, and drafting basic pleadings, discovery, and motions. The ideal candidate has excellent written and oral communication, file organization, and interpersonal skills with knowledge in litigation software programs. A B.A. or Paralegal Certificate is preferred, and a minimum of two years of experience is required.

Responsibilities

• Analyze and summarize medical records and depositions.
• Prepare exhibits for deposition and trial.
• Draft basic pleadings, discovery, and motions.
• Assist attorneys in preparing for trials and hearings.
• Maintain organized files and documentation for active cases.

Requirements

• Minimum of two years of experience as a paralegal.
• Valid Paralegal Certificate certification required.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Strong file organization and interpersonal skills.
• Familiarity with litigation software programs.
