About the position

The Insurance Defense Trial Attorney will manage the entire legal process related to insurance defense cases, including investigation, discovery, trial preparation, and court proceedings. This role requires strong relationship-building skills and the ability to communicate effectively with clients and claims representatives. The position is temporary and requires the candidate to be based in Colorado, with travel for court appearances within the state.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the entire legal process from investigation and discovery to trial preparation and court proceedings.
  • Develop legal strategies and research applicable laws, sharing findings with claims representatives and clients.
  • Maintain good relationships with claims representatives and clients, conducting training sessions as needed.
  • Draft legal documents, pleadings, motions, and legal opinions.

Requirements

  • Juris Doctorate (JD) degree
  • Membership in the Colorado Bar
  • Minimum of 2 years of successful law practice
  • Broad knowledge of insurance law
  • Familiarity with the latest legal developments and related fields
  • Process-oriented mindset with strong organizational skills
  • Proficiency with legal technologies
  • Strong relationship-building skills
  • Detail-oriented and analytical thinking
  • Persuasive oral and written communication skills

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in insurance defense is strongly preferred
