About the position
The Insurance Follow-up Lead position at Anesthesia Management Partners involves overseeing the Insurance Follow-up and Credentialing departments. The role focuses on managing aged and delinquent accounts, correcting claim errors, and resolving claim edits while ensuring compliance with medical billing practices. The ideal candidate will lead a small team and ensure accurate and timely follow-up on insurance claims.
Responsibilities
- Follow up on aged and delinquent accounts
- Correct claim errors and perform investigative duties
- Resolve clearinghouse claim edits in a timely manner
- Update provider information on CAQH
- Complete insurance and facility enrollment paperwork
- Lead, guide, and train junior representatives
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- 3 years of medical billing experience (preferred)
- Outstanding telephone communication and customer service skills
- Detail-oriented with strong analytical skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Familiarity with CPT and ICD-10 codes and modifiers
- Knowledge of HCFA-1500 forms and 837P electronic transactions
- Ability to read and understand insurance remittances
- HIPAA compliance
- Proficiency in Excel, Microsoft Word, and Adobe
Nice-to-haves
- Medical billing/insurance background (preferred but not required)
