About the position

As an Insurance Inspector for Pacific Inspections Inc., you will serve as an independent contractor responsible for conducting loss control inspections for the insurance industry. This role requires a keen eye for detail and the ability to provide comprehensive reports based on your observations during property inspections. You will be tasked with answering specific questions through a walk-through observation of properties, interviewing the insured or contact person, and capturing relevant photos and diagrams of the buildings. Your completed reports, along with any diagrams and photos, must be uploaded to our system via the inspector portal within 14 calendar days of the inspection. The inspections are to be conducted during regular business hours from Monday to Friday, with no fieldwork permitted on Sundays. The hours for this position are flexible, allowing you to manage your schedule effectively. Compensation is based on a per-inspection basis, with base rates ranging from $45 to $75, depending on the specifics of the job. This is not an hourly position, and you will be expected to manage your time efficiently to meet client needs and deadlines. You will utilize your personal vehicle, laptop, digital camera, high-speed internet, cell phone, and measuring wheel to conduct inspections. Strong customer service skills are essential, as you will be interacting with policyholders, agents, and other contacts to ensure that inspections are completed thoroughly and accurately. Building positive relationships with all points of contact is crucial to your success in this role.

Responsibilities

  • Provide high-quality, comprehensive loss control inspection reports as requested by clients, using established protocols, procedures, and policies.
  • Schedule and conduct field or office-based loss control underwriting inspection reports.
  • Use the company website portal to retrieve assigned work, track status of assigned requests, upload photos, complete assigned inspection forms, and submit completed reports for review by Quality Assurance.
  • Utilize a personal car, laptop, digital camera, high-speed internet, cell phone, and measuring wheel to conduct assigned inspections.
  • Employ strong customer service skills to communicate with policyholders, agents, and appointed contacts to conduct and complete assigned inspections.
  • Conduct Loss Control Surveys at the insured's locations to identify property and liability-related hazards and exposures.
  • Write comprehensive reports utilizing existing templates to identify potential loss conditions, hazards, or concerns and make recommendations to mitigate the exposures identified in the field surveys.
  • Build positive working relationships with all points of contact while working, conducting, and completing all assigned inspection requests.

Requirements

  • Must carry professional liability insurance, also known as Errors and Omissions.
  • Must have a FEIN to provide on W9.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Outgoing personality that enjoys interacting with a wide variety of people.
  • Ability to write comprehensive loss control reports.
  • Ability to work flexible hours and days.
  • Skills to work independently with little or no supervision.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of MS Office products (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) and inspection-related software when applicable.

  • Prior or current commercial and/or residential field inspections experience.
