About the position

The Insurance Operations Quality Analyst is a pivotal role within AXIS Capital's underwriting operations, ensuring adherence to established standards for quality throughout the policy life cycle. This role is instrumental in maintaining transparency through regular reporting and offering insightful suggestions for enhancement. The analyst supports the underwriting process by completing regular audits of various Operations employees, both in cycle and focused, and managing documentation, including but not limited to policy issuance, technical support, and ensuring compliance with company guidelines and regulatory requirements. The QA also communicates with members of the Operations staff and various levels of Management to ensure optimal customer service is being provided. In this role, you will conduct audits of underwriting and operational processes to ensure compliance, verify accuracy and completeness of insured details, risk factors, and policy specifications, and facilitate timely acquisition and proper filing of additional underwriting information. You will thoroughly review underwriting documents and policies to guarantee compliance with company guidelines and regulatory standards, maintain accurate account files and underwriting documentation, and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements. Additionally, you will review policy endorsements, renewals, cancellations, and other transactions for processing accuracy, accurately record premium bookings for all relevant transactions, and monitor performance to ensure adherence to established Service Level Agreement (SLA) guidelines. Engagement with internal staff is crucial, as you will gather information, clarify details, and provide updates. Acting as a point of contact for the Operations team and underwriters, you will offer guidance and suggest best practices to Management. Participation in User Acceptance testing may be necessary, and you will identify opportunities for process improvement and standardization. Monthly audit result reports will be provided to Operations Management, including summaries, trends, and improvement opportunities. Collaboration with various departments and colleagues will be essential to address inquiries, resolve issues, and streamline workflow processes, fostering open communication within the team environment and contributing value to the North American Operations Team.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum of 2+ years' experience in the commercial insurance industry as an Underwriter Assistant or equivalent insurance experience is required.
  • Strong knowledge of Operations Processes (including Quality Assurance) and relevant Rules and Compliance requirements.
  • Solid understanding of Property and Casualty insurance coverage is necessary.
  • Proficient in written and verbal communication, capable of independently interacting with internal and external business partners such as brokers on behalf of Operations and Underwriting.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, and Outlook), or similar software is necessary.
  • Strong aptitude for learning new computer/software programs is required.
  • Strong customer service skills and professional attitude are required.
