About the position

The GEICO Summer Pricing Internship Program offers an exciting opportunity for highly motivated individuals to gain hands-on experience in insurance pricing. Interns will engage in analytical projects that directly impact the company's growth and profitability, working alongside experienced analysts to develop and present proposals that inform critical business decisions. This 10-week paid internship is designed for future college graduates seeking intellectual growth and upward mobility in a dynamic environment.

Responsibilities

• Determine rates for various insurance products
• Analyze and project drivers of loss trends
• Develop and enhance new insurance products
• Examine and set loss reserves
• Work with data infrastructure
• Participate in actuarial projects such as rate reviews and reserving loss projections
• Develop and present analysis and proposals to stakeholder groups
• Gain experience using technical applications such as Excel, R, SAS, and Power BI
• Participate in insurance, pricing, reserving, actuarial, and technical trainings
• Engage in social and networking events

Requirements

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Math, Statistics, Actuarial Science, Economics, Business, Data/Business Analytics, or other relevant quantitative field of study with expected graduation by May 2026
• Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher
• Proven analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities
• Highly effective communication skills
• Intermediate skills in Excel
• Basic proficiency with data analysis software such as R, SAS, SQL, Python, or Power BI
• Self-driven, motivated, and leadership potential
• Ability to handle multiple concurrent priorities, providing accurate and timely results
• Intellectual curiosity to learn and ability to ask insightful questions
• Effective time management, attention to detail, and organizational skills
• Must live within commutable distance from one of the offices in Chevy Chase, MD or Chicago, IL
