About the position

As an Insurance Product Manager for Commercial Lines, you will be responsible for developing and communicating the long-term strategy for your product area within Central's Commercial Lines product suite. This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to evaluate market conditions, define product value, and make strategic decisions to drive innovation and profitability in the product line.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct market discovery through research on competitive landscape and industry trends.
  • Work with business intelligence, pricing, data science, and design research to define target customers.
  • Partner with underwriting operations, legal, and compliance teams to understand regulatory requirements.
  • Own the P&L performance of the product and drive profitability.
  • Establish and execute product strategies aligned with corporate objectives.
  • Identify and prioritize product development and enhancement opportunities.
  • Create and manage a product roadmap in coordination with cross-functional teams.
  • Ensure necessary information is provided for executing product changes.
  • Set stakeholder expectations and explain prioritization decisions.
  • Collaborate with marketing and regional offices to rollout product changes.
  • Track progress towards business outcomes and adjust roadmap as necessary.
  • Monitor financial and performance metrics to assess product outcomes.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in business management and 4 years of direct Insurance Product Management experience, or
  • Bachelor's degree in business management and 6 years of direct Insurance Product Management experience, or
  • 8 years of direct Insurance Product Management experience.
  • Strong research skills for primary and secondary market research.
  • Ability to synthesize large quantities of information to identify unmet needs.
  • Strategic thinking skills to translate insights into actionable roadmaps.
  • Basic financial accounting skills to understand product P&L and make recommendations.
  • Ability to collaborate and co-lead innovation workshops.
  • Clear communication style for explaining prioritization and product strategy.
  • Public speaking and presentation skills.
  • Ability to lead through subject matter expertise.
