About the position

The Underwriter for Environmental Insurance is responsible for managing and driving the profitability and growth of the company's Environmental specialty product line. This role involves underwriting various environmental liabilities, training staff, overseeing workflow, and ensuring timely claims adjustments. The position is ideal for an experienced underwriting manager looking to advance into upper management while managing a regional office for the Southwest United States.

Responsibilities

• Develop, create and underwrite specialty products.
• Identify, measure, manage, and account for risks in accordance with premium and profitability goals.
• Train and mentor staff in technical and regulatory knowledge.
• Oversee workflow, ensure timely adjustment of claims and related activities.
• Aid in claims adjustment, risk analysis, and pricing on complex cases.
• Analyze process deficiencies, identify opportunities to improve business outcomes, and communicate action plans to senior management.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Economics, Finance, Accounting, Insurance, or similar field.
• 2-5 years of experience in underwriting, specifically in Environmental Pollution Liabilities or related fields.
