About the position

The Insurance Underwriter for Environmental & Pollution Risks is responsible for overseeing the development and expansion of specialty insurance products that cover various environmental liabilities. This role involves underwriting risks associated with pollution and environmental disasters, while also building relationships with agents and brokers to attract and retain profitable business.

Responsibilities

• Develop, create and underwrite specialty products.
• Develop relationships with agents and brokers.
• Attract and retain profitable business.
• Market products and services.
• Analyze potential coverage and limit requests and determine appropriate terms.
• Price business.
• Assess risk quality and compliance.
• Take appropriate loss prevention actions.
• Administer rating and underwriting processes, loss history reports, credit checks, outside inspections, loss control, etc.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree
• 2-5 years of experience in insurance underwriting, specifically in Environmental Pollution Liabilities or related fields.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with Excess Surplus Commercial Lines Program Underwriting
• Strong analytical skills
