About the position
The Environmental Insurance Underwriter will analyze complex environmental risks and underwrite various types of environmental liability insurance. This role involves reviewing and assessing risks, maintaining relationships with agents and brokers, and optimizing underwriting processes. The position is remote, allowing for flexibility in work location while contributing to a specialized insurance program.
Responsibilities
- Analyze complex environmental risks and underwrite Premises Pollution Liability, Environmental General Liability, Contractors Environmental Liability, and similar risks.
- Review, analyze, and accept or decline risks based on underwriting guidelines.
- Order and screen related reports to support the rating and underwriting process.
- Maintain a book of renewal business and solicit new business opportunities.
- Participate in audits and optimize underwriting processes for efficiency.
- Develop and maintain profitable relationships with agents and brokers.
- Assist Junior Underwriters with complex submissions.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
- 2-5 years of experience in insurance underwriting, specifically in environmental pollution liabilities.

- Experience with Excess Surplus Commercial Lines Program Underwriting.
