About the position

The Underwriter for Environmental Insurance will manage and drive the profitability and growth of the company's Environmental specialty product line. This role involves underwriting various environmental liabilities, overseeing workflow, and mentoring staff while ensuring compliance with regulatory standards. The position is remote, allowing for flexibility in work location while focusing on the entire Southwest United States region.

Responsibilities

• Develop, create and underwrite specialty products.
• Identify, measure, manage, and account for risks in accordance with premium and profitability goals.
• Train and mentor staff in technical and regulatory knowledge.
• Oversee workflow, ensure timely adjustment of claims and related activities.
• Aid in claims adjustment, risk analysis, and pricing on complex cases.
• Analyze process deficiencies, identify opportunities to improve business outcomes, and communicate action plans to senior management.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Economics, Finance, Accounting, Insurance, or similar field.
• 2-5 years of experience in underwriting, specifically in Environmental Pollution Liabilities or related fields.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with Excess Surplus Commercial Lines Program Underwriting.
• Knowledge of Environmental General Liability Exposures and Pollution Legal Liability.
