About the position

The Insurance Underwriter for Manufacturing E&S is responsible for underwriting unique special risks associated with small to medium enterprises within the Excess and Surplus Casualty market. This role involves managing a complex book of brokerage business, building relationships with brokers, and providing analytical support to various teams. Responsibilities

• Underwrite unique special risks for small to medium enterprises within the E&S Casualty market.
• Manage a book of complex brokerage business.
• Build and maintain relationships with wholesale and retail brokers.
• Analyze competitor forms and pricing.
• Provide data to actuarial, claims, and finance teams.
• Serve as point of contact to producers and management.
• Train and manage junior staff.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
• 2-5 years of experience in insurance underwriting, specifically in specialty programs or excess surplus commercial lines.
