About the position

The Main Street Commercial Lines Insurance Underwriter position is focused on developing and implementing business strategies for new product coverages and features tailored for small and medium-sized businesses. This role involves underwriting for various industries, including restaurants, contractors, and health clubs, while ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and analyzing market trends.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement business plans to maximize profit and growth for Small Business General Liability Lines.
• Work closely with the product development team to create new offerings.
• Support sales leadership in managing relationships with agents.
• Develop programs to encourage agencies to adopt new products and technologies.
• Maintain compliance with individual state regulations.
• Monitor industry trends and competitor actions, adjusting business plans accordingly.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree and related professional designation such as CPCU.
• 5+ years of experience in underwriting, specifically in small and medium-sized business general liability products.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with catastrophic loss mitigation and reinsurance.
• Knowledge of commercial underwriting rules and guidelines.
