About the position
The Intact Specialist plays a vital role in the child welfare team, focusing on keeping children safe and supporting families through intensive, trauma-informed case management services. This position involves working with families at risk of having their children removed due to allegations of abuse or neglect, utilizing an evidence-informed model to help families achieve their goals. The role includes assessing family needs, planning services, and collaborating with various service providers, while also providing testimony in court regarding the best interests of children and families. The position offers opportunities for professional growth, with the potential for promotion to an Advanced Specialist role within 6-12 months.
Responsibilities
- Provide intensive, trauma-informed case management services to families at risk of child removal.
- Assess the needs of children and families and help plan appropriate services.
- Establish collaborative relationships with service providers and institutions.
- Monitor family progress towards their goals and provide necessary support.
- Testify in the Juvenile Court System regarding the best interests of children and families.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Social Work or a closely related field required.
- Child Welfare Employee License (CWEL), Child Endangerment Risk Assessment Protocol (CERAP), and Child Abuse and Neglect (CANS) certification required, or ability to obtain within 90 days of hire.
- Experience providing collaborative, strength-based services to kids and families preferred.
- Valid driver's license, insurance, and a reliable vehicle required.
