About the position

Hillcrest Children & Family Center is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing comprehensive mental health services to individuals in our community. We are committed to improving the lives of those struggling with mental illness through evidence-based treatment and compassionate care. As a Joint Commission and CARF accredited organization, we take pride in promoting awareness and understanding to break down barriers for mental health issues in our community! The Intake Assessor plays a crucial role in the organization by conducting initial assessments and evaluations of individuals seeking services. The primary responsibility of this position is to gather comprehensive information from clients, assess their needs, and determine appropriate next steps within the organization's service delivery framework.

Responsibilities

  • Initiates and completes diagnostic assessments, intake evaluations, screeners and treatment plans
  • Provide the professional expertise necessary to make determinations regarding patient program eligibility
  • Participate in child and adult case coordination meetings
  • Identify and redirect high-risk or high acuity participant encounters with compliance and agency-based protocols
  • Participate in regularly scheduled meetings with supervisors, departmental case conferencing meetings and team meetings
  • Collaborate with Quality & Insurance department
  • Complete paneling to all insurances needed for Hillcrest consumers

Requirements

  • Masters degree in social work, Psychology or related discipline is required
  • Must have one of the following District of Columbia certifications: LICSW, LPC, LGPC or LGSW
  • Minimum 1-3 years of experience at graduate level or full licensure
  • Must have liability insurance
