Responsibilities

  • Welcome and assist patients in the onboarding process, ensuring a positive and supportive experience.
  • Verify patient information, update records, and collect necessary documentation.
  • Coordinate telehealth appointments and manage the clinic's virtual schedule.
  • Communicate appointment details, including onboarding instructions and program requirements, to patients.
  • Proficiently navigate and utilize multiple telehealth platforms to facilitate virtual appointments.
  • Troubleshoot technical issues that patients may encounter during virtual visits.
  • Verify patient insurance information, ensuring accurate and up-to-date details.
  • Assist patients in understanding their insurance coverage for addiction treatment services.
  • Maintain organized and secure electronic medical records, including recording of lab results.
  • Ensure accurate and timely documentation of patient information, communications, and other relevant data.
  • Serve as a liaison between patients, healthcare providers, and other staff members.
  • Collaborate with the clinical team to relay important patient information and updates.
  • Assist with billing-related tasks, including co-pay collection and payment processing.
  • Address patient inquiries regarding billing and financial matters.
  • Adhere to strict confidentiality protocols in handling patient information.
  • Stay updated on relevant healthcare regulations and compliance standards.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional medical assistant certification is a plus.
  • Previous experience in a medical office, addiction clinic, or telehealth setting preferred.
  • Proficient in using telehealth platforms and electronic health record (EHR) systems.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Empathetic and understanding demeanor when dealing with individuals facing addiction challenges.
  • Familiarity with insurance verification processes and billing procedures.
