About the position

The Intake Coordinator at Pyramid Healthcare's Detox and Residential Treatment Center in Hammonton, NJ plays a crucial role in facilitating the admission process for clients seeking recovery from substance use disorders. This position involves managing client intake paperwork, coordinating with nursing staff, and ensuring that clients receive the necessary support and resources for their treatment journey. The role is essential in maintaining a smooth admission process and supporting clients in their transition to a sober lifestyle.

Responsibilities

  • Explain and sign admission paperwork, process and copy driver's license/insurance information.
  • Contact Probation/Parole if needed for client and assist in getting letter for admission/discharge, keeping a clinical log.
  • Assist with getting letters to employers when requested from clients to keep in clinical log.
  • Give family surveys to families when needed.
  • Facilitate the admission process by communicating with nursing when the client is ready for them.
  • Complete UR notes on all MCO/SCA clients and communicate all information to appropriate staff.
  • Gather information for and complete precertification for all managed care clients.
  • Track admission/continued stay/discharge PCPC on all county funded and MCO clients, entering into STAR or filing in chart.
  • Conduct level of care assessments on all clients.
  • Apply for medical assistance for SCA clients and coordinate with appropriate personnel to complete the process.
  • Take photos of each client, make copies, write name and MR number, and distribute.
  • Complete aftercare goals with detox-only clients, set up outpatient appointments/AA meetings, and complete discharge summary 7 days after discharge.
  • Communicate with nursing regarding discharge information.
  • Complete prescreens by phone and in person while entering data in the electronic clinical record, scheduling callers for appointments or referrals to appropriate services.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Strong skills in drug and alcohol and mental health treatment.

Nice-to-haves

  • 1 year of experience in drug and alcohol and/or mental health treatment.
