About the position
The Intake Representative at CarepathRx plays a crucial role in transforming hospital pharmacy services into a revenue-generating function. This position focuses on providing exceptional customer service, processing insurance benefits, and ensuring that all necessary documentation is collected and verified for patient care. The representative will work closely with patients, healthcare facilities, and insurance providers to facilitate the delivery of medical equipment and services, contributing to the overall mission of improving patient outcomes and engagement in their health management.
Responsibilities
- Excel in customer service
- Understand and process insurance benefits for financials
- Determine necessary documents for proper processing (orders, clinical notes, testing, etc.)
- Request additional documentation from referral EMR
- Proficiently use Medicare IVR for verification needs
- Collect payments from patients when required
- Create case management contracts and follow up for signed copies
- Create sales orders and forward to dispatch
- Request/submit insurance authorization when required
- Log initial DWO/CMN and authorizations
- Verify/confirm contact information with patients for delivery
- Maintain communication with hospitals and facilities regarding order processes
- Mentor new hires through on-the-job training
- Perform other duties assigned by supervisor/manager
