About the position

The Intake Research Analyst is responsible for conducting due diligence on potential and existing clients to assist with the evaluation of new business in accordance with ethical rules and internal policies. This role involves identifying risks and concerns to support informed decision-making by attorneys and Firm management. The position offers a hybrid work schedule and is part of a dynamic environment that promotes growth and collaboration.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct timely and thorough online research, including review of litigation, media, sanctions, and other determinants of client worthiness.
  • Gather, interpret, and present organized summaries of relevant research findings to attorneys and staff.
  • Communicate with attorneys, secretaries, and team members to ensure accuracy and completeness of reports and due diligence.
  • Collaborate with teammates on larger and more complex projects.
  • Identify issues and propose solutions to improve processes.
  • Stay current in research techniques and resources for high-quality research.
  • Adhere strictly to confidentiality rules regarding client and Firm matters.
  • Assist with special projects and ad-hoc requests.

Requirements

  • 2-4 years of relevant work experience, preferably in a legal or professional services setting conducting research.
  • Bachelor's Degree required.
  • General knowledge of legal terminology, litigation structure, and legal and business research processes and resources.
  • Expert level of deductive reasoning, analytical thinking, and research skills.
  • Proficient at filtering large amounts of data and summarizing information into relevant findings.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and prioritize competing demands to meet deadlines.
  • Strong computer skills and skilled in searching online resources.
  • Experience with Lexis and Westlaw is a plus.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in a legal or professional services setting conducting research.
  • Familiarity with Lexis and Westlaw.
