About the position
The Intake/Scheduling position at New Light Hospice involves providing administrative support in a hospice care setting. The role focuses on receiving and documenting new referrals, coordinating care with nursing staff, and ensuring effective communication with patients and their families. The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic, detail-oriented, and possess strong customer service skills, contributing to a supportive team environment.
Responsibilities
- Receive and appropriately document new referrals in a timely manner.
- Participate in coordinating care with Nurse Supervisors, patients, and the Interdisciplinary Team (IDT).
- Provide effective communication to respond to hospice and patient needs professionally.
- Schedule and document patient schedules in a timely manner.
- Perform other duties as assigned, supporting other departments as needed.
Requirements
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Effective interpersonal skills and attention to detail.
- High School Diploma or Associate's degree.
- Ability to work independently and enjoy problem-solving.
- 2 years of customer service, front desk receptionist, or clerical experience, preferably in a hospice or home health office.
- Valid Driver's License and proof of automobile insurance.
Nice-to-haves
- Bilingual in Spanish (preferred).
- Experience with Kinnser Software.
- Previous experience in a hospice or home healthcare office.
