About the position

The Intake Specialist at Abby Care is a full-time remote role focused on reviewing intake applications and assisting families with the authorization process for home health services. Responsibilities

• Managing a team to evaluate and assess intakes for program eligibility and ensuring all families' documentation is collected, completed, and submitted to MassHealth and MCOs accordingly.
• Reviewing and interpreting medical records to ensure timely and accurate prior authorizations, helping families avoid unnecessary delays in care.
• Maintaining high-quality standards and productivity measures in all authorization activities, ensuring families receive the best support.
• Collaborating with internal and external partners to enhance customer satisfaction and compliance, protecting families from financial burdens.
• Reviewing applications and payor websites to manage prior authorization, edits, denials, and appeals efficiently.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent with 2+ years of prior authorization experience.
• Strong understanding of medical terminology.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and excellent communication skills.
• Ability to analyze data and exercise independent judgment.

Nice-to-haves

• LPN or RN license.
• Familiarity with authorization processes and MassHealth regulations for Massachusetts home health aide services.
