About the position
The Intake Support Specialist is a nursing role focused on conducting screenings, physicals, and assessments to determine the eligibility of individuals for plasma donation. This position requires flexibility in scheduling, as it operates seven days a week with various shift options. The role is characterized by a fast-paced environment with a supportive team of nurses, emphasizing basic assessment duties without the need for complex medication management or heavy lifting.
Responsibilities
- Conduct screenings and assessments to determine eligibility for plasma donation.
- Obtain patient height, weight, and vital signs.
- Administer finger sticks to check hematocrit and protein levels.
- Collaborate with a tight-knit team of nurses to ensure efficient operations.
- Participate in cross-training opportunities within the center.
Requirements
- Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) certification required.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and rotating shifts.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
