About the position
The Intake Support Specialist is responsible for conducting screenings, physicals, and assessments to determine the eligibility of individuals for plasma donation. This role requires flexibility in scheduling, as it involves rotating shifts and weekend work. The position is designed to be fast-paced yet manageable, with a focus on basic assessment duties rather than complex medical procedures.
Responsibilities
- Conduct screenings and assessments to determine eligibility for plasma donation.
- Obtain height, weight, and vital signs from patients.
- Administer finger sticks to check hematocrit and protein levels.
- Work collaboratively within a tight-knit team of nurses.
- Participate in cross-training opportunities to gain exposure in other areas of the center.
Requirements
- Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) certification.
- Experience in blood sampling and basic patient assessments.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends.
- Entry-level position suitable for recent graduates.
