About the position

The Integrated Communications & PR Manager at International Dairy Queen (IDQ) plays a crucial role in overseeing Public Relations and Influencer Marketing efforts. This position is responsible for developing strategic visions that enhance brand awareness and equity, managing PR campaigns, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure effective communication across the Dairy Queen system. The role involves building relationships with media and influencers, managing a PR calendar and budget, and leading publicity events to drive traffic to franchise locations.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee Public Relations and Influencer Marketing efforts for International Dairy Queen (IDQ).
  • Develop a public relations strategic vision, goals, and plans in collaboration with the Director and Vice President of Marketing Communications.
  • Build and manage a year-round Public Relations calendar and campaign budget.
  • Establish launch and publicity strategies for product initiatives and drive sales during key seasonal periods.
  • Work closely with the Integrated Marketing Communications team to support mutual projects and goals.
  • Develop media relations strategy and build relationships with key media members.
  • Create and execute multi-media public relations events and campaigns with measurable value.
  • Manage media inquiries and interview requests, excluding crisis management matters.
  • Lead and direct external PR firms to develop programs for positive brand impressions.
  • Monitor, analyze, and communicate PR results on a quarterly basis.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Advertising, Journalism, Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, or related field.
  • 5-8+ years of progressively responsible Public Relations experience.
  • Proven track record of designing and executing successful public relations campaigns at the national level.
  • Strong relationships with local and national media outlets.
  • Experience acting as a company spokesperson and conducting media interviews.
  • Solid experience with social media platforms.
  • Strong project management skills in integrated marketing communications.
  • Excellent writing skills and ability to create quality presentations and press materials.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in a QSR, franchise business, or retail brand.
  • PRSA certification.
  • Public Relations agency experience.
