About the position

The NIPR Lab Engineer plays a crucial role in supporting the day-to-day operations of integrated lab environments. This position involves scheduling and allocating resources to meet various testing needs and network simulations. The engineer will support the integration of the development orchestration environment with lab network equipment, ensuring seamless functionality and performance. A significant part of the role includes designing and implementing comprehensive test plans, procedures, and scripts aimed at conducting performance testing, interoperability testing, and security assessments. The engineer will generate detailed reports on testing activities, performance metrics, and quality assurance vulnerabilities, providing valuable insights to stakeholders. Furthermore, the engineer is responsible for documenting testing procedures, results, and findings to support product or feature development, troubleshooting efforts, and compliance with Department of Defense (DOD) regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Support day-to-day operations of integrated lab environments.
  • Schedule and allocate resources for various testing needs and network simulations.
  • Support integration of the development orchestration environment with lab network equipment.
  • Design and implement test plans, procedures, and scripts for performance testing, interoperability testing, and security assessments.
  • Generate reports on testing activities, performance metrics, and quality assurance vulnerabilities.
  • Communicate insights, trends, and recommendations to stakeholders.
  • Document testing procedures, results, and findings to support product or feature development and troubleshooting efforts.

Requirements

  • 6+ years of related experience in network engineering or a similar field.
  • US Citizenship is required.
  • Possess a DoD 8570.01 approved baseline certification or higher, such as CompTIA Security+.
  • Appropriately certified for their designated role in accordance with DoD 8570.01-M, DFARS 252.239-7001, AR 25-2, or any successor policies or regulations.
