About the position

The successful candidate will join the Maintenance Directorate to support the Center Maintenance, Operations, and Engineering Contract (CMOE) located at NASA Langley Research Center. This position reports directly to the Integrated Operations Center (IOC) Manager. All work will be performed with a high standard of quality and professionalism. All safety policies and procedures must be followed.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the 24/7 staffed Integrated Operations Center (IOC).
• Act as the first line of defense for facility maintenance issues.
• Ensure the continuous and efficient operation of building systems across a large complex of 80+ buildings.
• Monitor and control the building automation system (BAS).
• Manage utilities and conduct after-hours visual inspections.
• Lead a team of operators, ensuring timely response to alarms and efficient communication.
• Maintain high safety standards and represent the IOC program to the customer.
• Assign, supervise, and evaluate IOC team performance.
• Manage work order completion and timeliness.
• Identify opportunities to continue to grow the IOC program.

Requirements

• U.S. Citizenship required.
• Three (3) to five (5) years related technical experience, or two (2) to three (3) years of related engineering experience.
• Working knowledge of HVAC and Building Automation Systems.
• Demonstrated ability to work safely and effectively as a supervisor in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience in using Microsoft Office applications.

Nice-to-haves

• Strong knowledge of building automation systems (BAS), HVAC, and other building systems.
• Trane controls experience preferred.
• Work order management - CMMS experience preferred.
• Experience with utility management and energy efficiency.
• Certified Energy Manager (CEM) or ability to obtain CEM within 1 year.
• Maintenance and reliability best practices including the work management process.
