About the position

The Integration Engineer will lead the adaptation of multiple vendor subsystems to comply with the Modular Active Protection Systems (APS) Framework (MAF) for a U.S. Army client. This role involves technical and programmatic interaction with subsystem vendors, development and maintenance of systems engineering artifacts, direct customer support, system modeling, and evaluation of subsystems against specified requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the adaptation of vendor subsystems to comply with the Modular Active Protection Systems Framework.
  • Interact with subsystem vendors in both technical and programmatic manners.
  • Develop and maintain systems engineering artifacts to support adaptation efforts.
  • Perform direct customer support and system modeling.
  • Generate system-level design products and support subsystem evaluations against requirements.

Requirements

  • Experience in systems integration and design.
  • Experience with Modular Open Systems Architecture (MOSA) modeling and design approaches.
  • Proficiency in drawing tools such as Microsoft Visio.
  • Knowledge of the SysML modeling language.
  • Familiarity with basic system architecture work products, including block diagrams, interface diagrams, activity diagrams, and sequence diagrams.
  • Understanding of system-level vehicle networking design principles such as data bandwidth, throughput, and determinism.
  • Ability to work independently on system-level design concepts with minimal oversight.
  • Ability to convey design concepts to a larger team and defend design decisions.
  • Ability to travel to client or vendor sites at least once a month.
  • Ability to obtain a security clearance.
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience adapting designs of legacy systems to modern architectures based on MOSA.
  • Experience with subsystem component design and integration into larger systems.
  • Experience with ground combat vehicle electrical system design and system safety design best practices.
  • Experience with the MagicDraw modeling tool suite.
  • Knowledge of APS components such as sensors or countermeasures.
  • Knowledge of best SysML modeling principles.
  • Ability to provide guidance for future model enhancement.
  • Possession of strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Secret clearance.
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or Systems Engineering.
